Since the inception of Oktoberfest, Bingemans has taken leadership to ensure that we give back to the community. Bingemans has always and continues to be a vibrant part of Oktoberfest in the community. Every year we donate to many community clubs, fundraisers, golf tournaments, school events and so much more. We are a significant tourism attraction that is very proud to have the ability to continue this tradition by giving back not only to our community but to those communities who surround us.

History of OktoberFun Day
In 1971, with Bingemans operating as an Independent Festhallen, a decision was made to host a Senior afternoon program.
The band we used was “The Mike Schuster Band”. They could play a good mixed repertoire of music to satisfy all. Mike, the leader of the band was an energetic young man up to any challenge, who had a brother that was physically challenged. Mike asked for permission to bring his brothers class from school, all of them with challenges, to attend the Senior program. The Bingemans readily agreed and the children came out and had a terrific time.
News of the event spread, and the following year, 1972, there were 3 or 4 schools that participated in the program that brought great joy to the young people. Mike Schuster had a new ally, the Bingemans. In 1973, the event grew even larger. It was just fantastic to see these young people that had so many difficulties have a good time! Unfortunately, later in 1973, Mike Schuster was taken from us too early.
The following year, the Bingeman Family decided to carry on the tradition that was championed by their old friend. Within a few years, this event commanded its own day, separate from the seniors and brings unbounded cheer to all that attend!
While Bingemans champions this free event in conjunction with the School Boards, we must thank our suppliers that assist us with their donations of product.
It is just fantastic to hear the joy expelled, especially when the kids hear the tune of the Bird Dance.
